Plant scientists answer your questions

21 May 2012

Plant scientists have answered more of your questions on GM wheat and commercialisation of research.

Professor Maurice Moloney from Rothamsted Research and Professor Jonathan Jones from the Sainsbury Laboratory joined us for a live online discussion and answered your questions on ownership, patents and commercialisation of this research.

The Rothamsted researchers' appeal has given rise to questions about all aspects of genetic modification and plant research, which are setting a very interesting agenda for discussion about plant science. We and the researchers are doing what we can to develop this dialogue, sorting them into themes and pursuing responses.

This online Q&A follows the one on Friday 4th May with Dr Wendy Harwood and Professor Huw Jones, who answered your questions on cross-contamination. We are also really pleased that we grabbed Dr Toby Bruce and Professor Huw Jones first in the lab and then in the field to respond to all your  questions on what they have actually done and how they are going to determine whether it has been successful. The PodDelusion guys were there to record it all, and you can listen to the full length podcast.
