House of Lords second reading debate

The Defamation Bill goes to the House of Lords for its second reading debate on Tuesday 9th October 2012. This is the first time members of the House of Lords will be able to discuss the Bill, and the problems with the laws that the Bill was introduced to fix. You can read the briefing we produced for members of the House of Lords (PDF) where we set out our biggest concern with the Bill - the lack of a strong public interest defence - and the groups and organisations who support the campaign.

The full text of the debate can be found here.
