I hope that the critics actually try to discuss and listen to the arguments.
As for my experience most people in germany just repeat what greenpeace and foodwatch tells them - and everyone else must be paid by monsanto etc..
A "fun thing" i like to tell is the EHEC -Epedimia in Germany - caused by Bio-Vegetables (a word which was never seen in newspapers) - and cured with Eculizumab (genetically engineered - at that point not even approved...) - so everything has it'S up and downside.
Anyway - a technology isn't bad or good just by existing - but by the way it's used.

For world food and agricuture's sake, we have got to start making some progress with this technology, as well as reducing food wastage.

Congratulations to the scientists at Rothamsted, not only for carrying out exciting research of potential benefit to the environment and humanity alike, but for the deftness and wisdom with which they have confronted this barbaric, ignorant attack. Clearly much is needed to be done to increase the public understanding of science and technology.

'We are not civilised by the extent to which we can return to nature, but by the extent to which we can overcome it.' Scientific research and progress vs superstition and ignorance!

The inquisition loved to destroy knowledge. We are facing a modern inquisition of a kind.
