The planned direct action against the GM wheat experiment at Rothamsted did not happen on Sunday 27th May. The GM wheat trial is ongoing.

I totally support the scientists in this appeal and commend them for all the very valid points they have made and for their attempts to communicate with the protesters and demystify their research.
There is so much more at stake than just this one trial. The outcome will set the scene as to whether agricultural research can be carried out in the UK.

Quite apart from potentially disrupting the scientific work on GM crops this planned attack would be willful vandalism and aggrevated trespass, both are illegal and the police should offer protection and prosecution of any offenders.
